Many do not realize how much lacking personal care items can negatively impact a student’s learning. William Syre High School in Philadelphia recently held a donation drive for personal care items; which Dema Dimbaya was gladly able to assist. 

 

We were able to donate feminine care products from the Womens Haven, skin care essentials from Touch of Oshea, and toothbrushes from Coral Oral Cares.

. In addition to the aforementioned, a few water bottles were also donated.

 

Personal care items are essential for the success and stability of students and their academic success. 

 

- Hygiene and Health

Items such as oral care, skincare, and feminine care assist students in maintaining ideal personal hygiene and prevent infections. This will help to keep them present in school and out of the doctor’s office.

 

- Comfort and Focus

Not having to be preoccupied by discomfort and odors, personal care items such as feminine hygiene products, soap, and toothbrushes help to ensure students remain focused in class and achieve their academic goals.

 

With personal care items, the physical, psychological, emotional, and academic well-being of students allows them to develop ideal hygiene habits, confidence to compete academically; which leads to their to their overall success in school and outside of school.
